SPHERICAL
DISTORTION
NEWS/blog
30.06.2010 WTF!?!? Spherical Distortion is back and this time with an upbeat positive track? Well yes, plenty of positive here, "almost" an excess of it... positive in a spherical (and/or) distorted kind of way. It was time for us to do the classic tribute track - and we had only little choice of entity to praise and celebrate. Perhaps we went a bit too far celebrating - again?
In any case, Sweet Music is here for your listening pleasure...

29.11.2009 We went to the Concert Hall to experience Fever Ray live in concert – and what an experience! The opening act Hildur Gudnadottir was a strange combination of cello and, well, strangeness. Fever Ray was an eerie pool of smoke, darkness, creepy creatures and astonishingly gloomy music beneath a roof of clean-cut laser light – the music much more organic almost alive compared to The Knife – the music more downbeat yet even darker. The sound was a bit disappointing – probably because the Concert Hall was built for classical music. The break in the show caused by the smoke alarm was just plain embarrassing for the venue. But the music itself was great – especially the non-album track “Stranger Than Kindness” was very powerful – and the track title sums up the experience pretty well.

19.10.2009 And so we're back ... in black, you might add (duh). This time with a dark, downbeat electronic track called (void). And the title isn't lying. At all. Welcome to the essence of truly down and out.

03.10.2009 Chances are, that you missed out on the pre-release-party in Munich where a specially invited audience got the chance to hear an early demo/bootleg/premastered version of our new track (void). Watch out for the upcoming release of the final version.
01.01.2009 WOW! It was a great experience presenting our material live - and it wasn't just the band having a good time with live SD Music - or so the audience said :-) No equipment failure, just a few level adjustments and some minor lyric "remixing". We did it!
Set list:
1. AtmosFear/Beat the House
2. Despair (I'm Always...)
3. The Edison Tribe
4. House 55
18.12.2008 Its official! As the last hours of 2008 drains away, Spherical Distortion will play live for the first time. If you are one of the lucky few who have been invited for this historical event, you can look forward to a lean set packed with SD classics. See you all there!

13.08.2008 Finally, just seconds short of being officially nick-named The Fall Out Boys, here we are again with a new track. Once is never enough, they say (right?) - and so we bring you the 2008 edition of our first visit in the world of pop songs: Castles in a Cloudless Sky. This is how it was almost meant to sound ... to be .. erh, to exist. We just weren't ready for it back then, if you catch the drift. But here we go - summer time's back!!

13.03.2008 Behold! You thought us warped into a void of perpetual silence. But the silence is not broken yet as we finally release the sneak-previewed track The Edison Tribe. Everybody's invited to join minds and souls around the tribal pyre for an electronic version of pure trance-like rhythm in this day of electricity.

03.03.2008 Ok, so what's up with the lack of updates and new tracks? Have you guys fallen into the endless pit of self loathing and deception or have you left the scene?
Well, neither actually. We are working on several new things and the next track out will be The Edison Tribe - an electronic homage to one of the pioneers within electrical engineering and human tribal behaviour Its been "almost done" for ages and its about time we get down and just master the damn thing. Also coming up is an updated version of one of our old tracks - carefully remade to better fit our original intention for the sound. We aim for that to be ready just in time for the endless summer days on the beach.
Oh, and for those of you who care about the technicalities, our brand new Reason 4 with the shiny new Thor synth just arrived... mmmmmmm... Thor.... expect more synthy goodness in the future. Until then, we remain Spherical Distortion.
24.12.2007 Merry Christmas and happy New Year everyone! Thank you for all your love and support - and lets not forget, your patience. We know that we have been silent for a while but rest assured that we have plenty of new things brewing on the hard disks! See you all in 2008!

19.08.2007 Our new single "Despair (I am always...)" is released and ready for download! It explores the realms of insanity and mental distortion.
26.07.2007 All lyrics are now up (you find them together with the tracks in the Music section) and most of the bugs should be ironed out. If you find everything oddly placed and the logo on the left with a strange background, you are most likely surfing around with an old browser and you should download a newer - the Internet is not a safe place you know :-) May we recommend you download Firefox - its free, fast and as safe as browsers get.
25.07.2007 There! Our new website is up! :-) We haven't worked out all the kinks yet, but most things should be OK (yes we know the lyrics are temporarily missing...). But hey, what was wrong with the old one? Shouldn't you spend your time making music instead of a new website? Well, technically yes... However, we were running out of space with the old layout and had to be very creative in order to fit the contents. Now, we don't like being creative, so we changed the site to something a little more flexible :-) Ok, now back to the mixer...

17.07.2007 A few days back we went to hear People Press Play and Badun double concert during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The Future 3 guys still got it and Sara has a wonderful voice. Badun left us somewhat puzzled - partly due to he constant chatter of people around us who obviously didn't connect with the band, and partly because it was our first meeting with the demanding universe that is Badun Cyber Jazz. To make a long story short, our next track is almost done...
24.06.2007 Our latest track "Beat the House" is ready!
11.06.2007 Temperatures here in the Copenhagen area have reached levels where reality itself has become distorted. We fear the next releases may be influenced, but we try to keep the voices down - hungry as they may be.
